Maggie Royce is a Minnesota-based artist, working in cut-paper and ink drawing, stop motion animation, sculpture, and graphic design. Using abstracted hands, lines, and simple shapes, she creates self-reflective work as a means to develop empathetic and genuine relationships. Her creative process begins by engrossing herself in a topic, then processing through her artwork, maintaining creative levity through abstraction and subconscious interpretations. Each element in her work is impulsive, permanent, and influences what will come next. After receiving her BA in Studio Arts from Augsburg University in 2015, Maggie has exhibited in group shows, collaborated on music videos, and is currently preparing her first solo exhibition, titled then and here and all at once, a multimedia installation about the intersection of time and human emotion.

In 2021, Royce was a Guild House Artist in Residence at Guild Hall of East Hampton in partnership with Further on Artist-in-Residence.
